What is the Abyss in AION 2?

The Abyss is AION 2’s open PvPvE zone, where Elyos and Asmodians fight over artifacts in Lower Reshanta. It opens at level 45 with about 1,000 item level, and your time inside is limited by weekly Abyss access hours (roughly 7 per week). You earn Abyss Points to spend and Rank Points for your seasonal rank. Even PvE players should visit: Abyss Points buy stigma shards and Daevanion crystals.

Abyss Points vs Rank Points

Abyss Points Rank Points
What they are Currency Ranking score
Spent on PvP gear, stigma shards, Daevanion crystals, runes Nothing; they set your rank
Lost on death No Yes

Abyss Points have weekly caps that rise after the weekly reset; once you hit them, only small amounts still come in from rifts.

How do you earn Abyss Points?

  • Monsters in the Abyss: the main source; tougher monsters give more.
  • Duty missions: 1,000 (lower) and 2,000 (middle). Rift quests: 2,000 each. These sit outside the weekly caps.
  • Arenas: Solitude (1v1) and Cooperation (5v5) pay 300 per match and 500 per win, up to 10 participations and 30 wins a week. The Strategy Arena (10v10) pays 1,000 per match and 3,000 per win.
  • Abyss Corridor: 10,000–30,000 in five minutes, depending on kill speed (see below).
  • Shugo Festival reward keys also pay Abyss Points; see the Shugo Festival guide.

How does the Artifact Siege work?

Three artifact points sit on the Reshanta map. At set times a core appears on each, and both factions fight for it; the side that lands the last hit captures it, and rewards scale with your damage contribution.

  • Schedule: Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 21:00 server time; siege bosses appear at 21:30.
  • Faction bonus: holding 1, 2 or 3 artifacts gives your whole side +2.5%, +5% or +7.5% Abyss Points.

What is the Abyss Corridor?

An instance your faction unlocks by holding artifacts. Each artifact you control gives one entry, usable only until the next siege, so run it early. Monsters respawn constantly; in five minutes you can earn 10,000–30,000 Abyss Points. Ranged classes stand in the middle and AoE everything; melee classes run a circle so the entrance packs respawn as they go.

What are the Abyss ranks in Season 1?

Ranks compare you with players of your own class by Rank Points. The top rank, Supreme Commander, needs 20,000,000 points and gives a 5% PvP bonus; ranks step down through Commander, Marshal, General, five Officer tiers and nine Soldier tiers to Trainee, which gives no bonus. On Global, rank gives a PvP bonus but no Abyss Point bonus.

FAQ

How do I get into the Abyss in AION 2?
Reach level 45 and about 1,000 item level, then enter Lower Reshanta. Your time inside is limited by weekly Abyss access hours.
Do you lose Abyss Points when you die?
No. Dying costs Rank Points (your ranking score), not the Abyss Points you spend in shops.
What should I spend Abyss Points on?
Stigma shards and Daevanion crystals first, since they are permanent power for both PvE and PvP. PvP gear is worth it once you play the Abyss regularly.
